This policy explains what personal data thejudonomad.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who is responsible for your data
The Judo Nomad, a French non-profit association (loi 1901, RNA W601009291), 9rue la croix du vault, 60112 La Neuville-Vault, France. Contact: julien@thejudonomad.com.
What we collect and why
- Contact form (site footer): your email address and your message, so we can reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you. Kept for up to 3 years after our last exchange.
- Seminar sign-up page (the QR code page): your first name and email, used to send you a thank-you email with a short feedback survey and, only if you say yes, news about supporting the project. Legal basis: your consent. Kept until you unsubscribe — every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Feedback survey (Tally): your answers, first name and email. Your testimonial is only published if you explicitly agree in the survey.
- Club, coach and athlete registrations (Nomad Network forms): the details you choose to share, used only to put you in touch with clubs, coaches or athletes. Kept for as long as the Nomad Network runs, unless you ask us to remove them.
- Visit statistics (Jetpack Stats): pages viewed, referring sites and approximate country, to understand what people read. No advertising profile is built. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Who processes the data for us
- Hostinger (Cyprus, EU) — hosting, email and server logs.
- Brevo (France, EU) — emails to seminar participants.
- Tally (Belgium, EU) — feedback survey.
- Automattic / Jetpack (USA) — site statistics and security.
- Google (USA) — Nomad Network forms, the embedded world judo map and YouTube videos.
- [Add or remove: Mailchimp, if the Mailchimp plugin is still used]
Transfers to the United States rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Embedded content and cookies
The site itself sets no advertising cookies. Some pages show content from other services — YouTube videos, Instagram and YouTube feeds, a Google map. When you play a video or load a map, that service can see your visit and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. On the homepage, the video only loads from YouTube when you tap it.
Our fonts are served from our own server, so viewing the site sends nothing to Google Fonts.
Payments and donations
Monthly support and donations go through Patreon, Tipeee and PayPal. We never see your card or bank details; those services handle them under their own privacy policies. We may see your name, your email and the amount, so we can thank you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to its use, limit it, or receive a copy. Write to julien@thejudonomad.com and we will answer within one month. If you think your rights are not respected, you can complain to the CNIL: cnil.fr.
Children
This site is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 15 without a parent’s consent; the seminar survey is never given to children. If you think a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with its date.
